Snowing Here!

Captain’s Log   5,965

Look what 4-6 inches of snow does to this community.  It brings it to a halt!  I must say, it is snowing at the higher elevations and driving mountain roads is tricky.  That much I will give.  But the rest of it…..hilarious!

Snowing in San Diego.

We certainly know how to get worked up!

We always get what you got, only a day or two later. Snow all around us, including parts of the Phoenix metro area. Obviously it never sticks here for more than a few minutes (if that). But since you and I grew up in Iowa, we get to point and laugh at the panic levels of the idiot factor, lol

  2. Happy new year to you. Hugs.

A friend who works in Temecula said the I15 was pretty icy this morning. Another posted a photo from Descanso with a pretty decent amount of snow. The photo from Jamul with the little Great Grand playing in the snow was admittedly a little pathetic. Ah well; we do the best we can.

  4. Not only do we not know how to drive in rain, but we think we can drive in snow too. Yes, stay home, warm, and with a good munchie and book. Hugs./

  5. Brings back childhood memories for you, I bet! At least it won’t last very long there.

Amazing what a little elevation will do lol. we consider it getting off easy with six inches around here. Funny thing is that the Pacific flow this year has caused much of our precipitation to be rain rather than snow. Mother Nature can be so ironic 😉

  7. AAAUGH! IT’S SNOWMAGEDDON! Break out the Subarus and emergency hardtack! It’s bearing down on us like a shotgun full of snow!!!!

LOL…ok, 6 inches of snow IS pretty tough if you’re not used to it. And – that’s wine country! They’re REALLY not used to it. Still, hard not to laugh a bit at the hubub. (Does anyone even sell snow tires out there?)

  8. David Brinkley once pointed out that snow in Washing, DC, meant an inch of snow with drifts up to an inch and a half. He applauded LBJ for saying it wasn’t deep enough to go home early.

Enjoy it while you’ve got it; it gets old really quick.
