Weed Management

Captain’s Log  5,593

If all goes as planned, I will no longer be dealing with this weedy problem.

burr

Yes, that is a burr.  Really bothersome weed.

Burrs are often shape shifters.    But they can be vanquished with time and patience…..and attention to detail.

weed killer

Vinegar works well on weeds.  So does urine.

Speaking of weeds and gardens and plants and stuff, my lovely garden burst into more wonder while I was gone.   The gardener was here yesterday working on the back yard and mowing the grass.  He is pleased with the progress and has programmed the irrigation system for three times a week instead of daily.  Everything is now growing so well.

Off for a day of meetings.  And weed management.  It’s always something.

Your garden looks lovely – and spritz away! I didn’t know about the vinegar and urine cures for weeds, but will absolutely try out the vinegar on our yard. We don’t like using harsh chemicals but the weeds were getting the upper hand for a long time and once it gets miserably hot, pulling them becomes a potentially life-threatening activity.

Your garden is looking fabulous. Except for the burrs. Ack!

  3. Just beautiful stuff. Marvelous.

Your Eden looks gorgeous! But are the neighbors going to complain when you go out and pee on your plants? And with those burrs, you’d have to be ever so careful.

  5. I’ve always wondered why I don’t have more weeds in this area next to the wilderness. I don’t use vinegar, but considering the animals — wild, tame, and in-between — they must be useful for something. 8)

Now I’ve got these swamp plants where there weren’t any before, undoubtedly carried in by the last flood. I wonder if the deer would like them.

Looks fabulous? Your own private paradise!
