Green Spins the World

Captain’s Log  5,554

The yard is coming along so well!  I am delighted!  This is the inner front yard.

inner front yard

Lovely grass right outside my bedroom window.  I am so thrilled!  No more Bermuda grass that grows sideways!

outer front yard

Yard on the street side of the fence.  Looks like a checkerboard right now.  The grass is so lush!

back yard

Back yard being prepped for the new irrigation system and desert plantings that will require minimal water and care.  He ran 12 separate drip lines just for the roses!  Wahooo!

I was outside with Victorino yesterday and some of the neighbors came by to get a closer look.  Many ooh’s and ahh’s.  Just like fireworks on the 4th of July.  The next door neighbor is going to hire Victorino to re-scape his back yard areas too.  Such lovely work is a great calling card.

I was delighted to look outside this morning to discover that the sprinklers had already worked their magic.  He has them set high right now until the grass “sets” and takes root.  After that, he will set them up for a good sprinkle twice a week.  The back yard is on a separate system that won’t require that much.

A huge creative opportunity keeps knocking on my door.  Time to settle down and start seriously thinking about writing some music again.  I have contacted my co-creator from Peter Pan to see if we can get together and produce a few tunes.  I am feeling alive again!

  1. Your yard is wonderful! I can’t wait to see the end results with the back yard. Today, we’re getting maybe 8 inches of snow in our back yard. Sigh.

  2. It looks lovely, Poolie. I’m so glad for you! *Hugs*

I like it: you and the new lawn are growing together!

  8. The grass is going to be fab when it’s settled in. I like that there’s another difference between American and English English – you say sod, we say turf x

Looks great. Californians can do such great things in small spaces. (All it takes is water. LOL)

Wow, can’t wait to see it all in person next year!
