So I have been hit with a fair amount of heat and criticism for the action I have taken with the Kony 2012 campaign. People haven’t been brave enough to trounce my decision in a public forum, however. Chicken shits! That has been saved for private messages on Facebook and emails. “Poolie! Only 32% of the money goes to the cause!” “He captured 30,000 children, but not all at one time!” Or…. “He isn’t even in Uganda anymore!” “They are just a bunch of surfer boys from California. What do they know?”
To the asshats who said such things to me……. Here are my answers.
I run a non-profit organization without a lot of overhead. My payroll runs about 75%, leaving only 25% of the left-over funds to run the programs. The fact that the Kony 2012 project has a 32% level is utterly astounding. If you have never run a non-profit organization, keep your fookin’ mouth shut on this one!
How many children must be captured at one time to make this a heinous thing? You fookin’ IDIOT!
So if he isn’t in Uganda, does that mean the world doesn’t need to capture him? Does Kony crossing the border make this whole issue moot?
Are you saying people who surf cannot put together the effort to create a world-wise cause for justice and human rights?
I get really tired of people who work hard to find the flaws. Under the guise of my “best interests,” they fell compelled to tell me that I made the wrong decision. How can spending a few bucks on a cause that might do some good be wrong? Was it really in my best interests to sit back and do nothing and analyze the situation to death until it falls off the radar? And how in the FOOKIN’ HELL does anyone know what my best interests are???
This country spends billions of dollars every stinkin’ day on things that do nothing to help anyone. Shall we talk about the tremendous overhead costs of our government? Is it in my best interests to keep supporting something like that? Why aren’t my detractors coming forth to give me advice on how to dodge my taxes? Instead, they would rather offer suggestions about the actions I took regarding something I believe is wrong. HOW DARE THEY!
Those those who challenge m involvement with the Kony 2012 campaign, this is my challenge to you. What are YOU doing to improve the planet? What cause(s) have you taken to your heart? Where have you spent your few extra dollars? I want to know. And I want to know here in this journal. If you feel you must sneak around and make your criticisms of me something other people cannot see, I challenge you to stand up here and put yourself on the line. I am tired of listening to your private crap. Do it here. Let’s give everyone a chance to challenge your “best interests.” Let’s see what makes you tick.
I never dreamed people would have the audacity to actually scold me for opening my heart and my wallet. Shame on you.
